release beta, take some time off, next beta tester release should have a sand boss thats partially fightable, add some secret areas so playtesting whole game is fun again!

Sorry guys. I'm just not into it. Too few people seem to really care about this game. The only time I really feel motivated to continue it is when during the very rare occasion I get to watch someone play it and see their reactions to things. I haven't seen any in a while. I've been considering releasing a new public beta to include all the new stuff.

I like your suggestion markmark, I agree that there should be big updates, the micro updates were starting to get old but I was ok with it, I practicly live on my computer, I still think that there sould still be updates to test (even if it is just a few people, a few people are better then none).

suggestion. No more releases unless substantial progress is made. Either the boss(something that really needs to be tested to death), or a whole bunch of secret areas

Yeah, in fact I myself believe that it maybe wasn't such a good idea to do weekly releases. Having to download a ~40MB file every week to test just a little new section or bug could have been getting annoying after a while. It would be a whole different story if you designed a few rooms and we'd need to test them (and everything else in that matter).

I have been back every now and then but I just don't know what to say. I am a quiet forum guy.

I'll admit that while I was excited fangame was starting up again, I wasn't anywhere near as hyped about each new release as I was back when I first became a beta tester.

Agreed. Even when I said I was stopping and disabled the beta and the download, nobody ever came by and posted. I at least expected a reaction. The lack of one made it painfully clear that people just don't care enough about the project. Maybe I'll work on it now and then, but I won't release betas.

I find it peculiar that people were all ecstasic about that Fangame was picked up again, then promised to keep testing thoroughly and then disappear without a trace. I at least still check the forums every day...

No, because I still might pick it back up some day. I'm not necessarily completely abandoning the project forever. Besides, I'll probably use the engine for another game, so it wouldn't go to waste.

If you're not going to finish, would you consider distributing the code? Your engine is too good to let it go to waste.

I know people get busy. Thing is, I just don't really care enough about the game any more, and having other people really into it was really the only thing keeping me motivated...

For my side, I hope you can understand I've been very busy with work and certain recording sessions lately - I hope that I can get some leisure time in the next few weeks...

I didn't think anybody really cared anyway.

Sorry there hasn't been a new release today, guys. I've just been focusing on other things and haven't added anything new. Also, there hasn't been much feedback on the current version so I haven't really had anything to work on.
